Football stadium cheers on DMU grad Jessica as she promotes science in Africa

De Montfort University in Leicester, where Jessica obtained her Bachelor’s degree shared an account on Jessica Okoro’s  partnership with the Sierra Leone government; Office of the First Lady  and the Department of for STEM Social Sierra Leone, the first International event hosted by the BeScience charity. 

This was a national event held in Freetown, Sierra Leone with 3,000+ participation including students, exhibitors, teachers, etc. with the  Vice President, Mohamed Jildeh Jalloh as a Keynote Speaker. 

In her own words, “ it had to be big. We were aiming for 2,000 but the numbers kept rising and the National Stadium was the biggest venue we could find. It was nerve-wracking but the event turned out to be phenomenal.”
