Introduction
In this podcast Jessica Okoro is in conversation with Aman. Aman is a student of the Flying Start Accountancy degree program offered by the University of Nottingham in association with PwC. Here he shares a glimpse of his life experiences, ambitions, and love for sports.
Segment 1: Back to the future
One of the most important lessons which Aman has imbibed through his learning of maths is “knowing that there is always a correct answer/solution” to any problem. Like every other student Aman, shares that he was a pretty ordinary kid who loved playing tennis and table tennis. Speaking about Maths/ Accounts and its implications in daily life, Aman cites small and interesting examples which invoked interest towards the subject. He finds himself extremely fortunate to have supportive parents and because of whom he became the first member of his family to enter the field of accountancy.
Segment 2: The game-changer
Aman reveals that he first found the information about the PwC program online. He describes that the program enabled him to grow academically and professionally as well. He stresses that the course holds fantastic prospects for his future. Elaborating about the particulars of the course, he explains that the course is a 4 year program, wherein the 1st year is typically like a university setting, while the rest of the years focussed on nurturing the future professionals.
As a tip to new applicants, Aman suggests the applicants should look for the core values of the company and see if their values align with the company.
Segment 3: Relationship goals
Addressing the issue of imposter syndrome, Aman emphasizes that it is obvious for every individual regardless of their levels to face such moments. He adds that such moments are to be seen as moments of learning and self-development. The importance of communication and eagerness to seek answers from colleagues is essential for the competitive changing world, he asserts
